Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that an operation on his ankle went according to plan.

The 19-year-old, who has not featured for the Gunners this season, underwent surgery earlier today to repair a damaged bone in his right ankle.

The operation is expected to keep Wilshere out of action until Christmas.
