Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has taken to social media to respond to Jose Mourinho's COVID-19 vaccine plea following his positive test.
The Switzerland international contracted the virus while on international duty and was forced to withdraw from the squad before it was revealed that he turned down the COVID-19 vaccine.
Following the news, Mourinho - whose side Roma saw talks for a deal for Xhaka break down over the summer - commented "Get the jab Granit and be safe," under the midfielder's latest Instagram post.
The former Arsenal captain has since replied to the Portuguese, saying: "Thank you mister," weeks after Mourinho's team tried and failed to bring him to Serie A.
Xhaka was reported to have displayed mild symptoms of the virus and is currently in self-isolation, but he is suspended for Arsenal's next three Premier League matches anyway.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach man extended his stay at the Emirates until 2024 following Roma's failed pursuit, but he saw red in Manchester City's 5-0 drubbing of Arsenal last weekend for a challenge on Joao Cancelo.
