Player Ratings: Manchester City 0-2 Arsenal

Sports Mole marks the Manchester City and Arsenal players out of 10 for their displays in the Gunners' 2-0 win.

Arsenal ended a seven-game winless streak in Manchester by defeating Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad this afternoon.

Goals either side of half time from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud earned the points for the Gunners, who put an end to City's 13-game unbeaten run.

Below, Sports Mole marks each player out of 10 for their performance.

CITY

Goal

Joe Hart: Might have been able to come and claim the cross for the second, but apart from that he didn't have too much to do, making some routine stops. (6/10)

Defence

Pablo Zabaleta: Failed to have the impact that he likes to going forward as Alexis Sanchez's energy up and down the wing kept him penned back. (6/10)

Vincent Kompany: Daft challenge to concede the penalty for Arsenal's first goal. Making his first appearance in over a month, he looked quite rusty. (4/10)

Martin Demichelis: Chosen ahead of Eliaquim Mangala to partner Kompany and didn't do much wrong. (5/10)

Gael Clichy: Like Zabaleta, struggled to do much going forward against his old team. Made a crucial block late on to prevent a third. (6/10)

Midfield

Fernando: Decent when he had the ball, but didn't offer much in a box-to-box sense. (5/10)

Fernandinho: Tried to assume the Yaya Toure role with some surges forward and the odd nice pass. Taken off shortly after the hour. (6/10)

Jesus Navas: Saw a lot of the ball on the right, but his crossing and dribbling wasn't at its best. Came off with 15 to go. (4/10)

David Silva: One of his quietest games in a while. Couldn't find the pockets of space that he usually enjoys. (5/10)

James Milner: Started out on the left with Samir Nasri injured and was taken off at the interval following an ineffectual first half. (5/10)

Attack

Sergio Aguero: Only had one shot of note and failed to make contact with another close-range chance on his first start in six weeks. City fans will hope he can find his shooting boots quickly. (5/10)

Substitutes

Stevan Jovetic: Given 45 minutes to make an impact, but, like the rest of his teammates, had no luck against the Gunners' backline. (5/10)

Frank Lampard: Got into some decent positions in the half an hour that he was on the pitch. Not supplied with a chance to score. (6/10)

Edin Dzeko: Spurned the one decent chance that came his way with a tame shot when he should have looked for a fellow blue shirt. (5/10)

ARSENAL

Goal

David Ospina: Slightly dodgy with a couple of difficult high balls. Made decent saves when called upon. Should continue ahead of Wojciech Szczesny. (6/10)

Defence

Hector Bellerin: Chosen ahead of Calum Chambers to start at right-back and proved his worth with an assured display. (7/10)

Per Mertesacker: Positionally perfect in the heart of Arsenal's stodgy defence. Helped keep Aguero very quiet. (8/10)

Laurent Koscielny: Picked up a silly booking inside three minutes, but maintained his cool and composure for the remainder. (8/10)

Nacho Monreal: Won the penalty for the opener after playing a nice one-two with Olivier Giroud. Strong in the tackle and could keep his place ahead of Kieran Gibbs. (8/10)

Midfield

Francis Coquelin: Did the dirty work in the middle of the park and shut down the threat of Silva especially. Impressive from someone who was on loan in the Championship not long ago. (8/10)

Aaron Ramsey: An energetic display from the Welshman on his first start of the year. A little wasteful when in good positions in the final third, though. Looked tired at the end and removed with five to go. (7/10)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Lively down the right, but lacked a real cutting edge to break down City. Came off midway through the second half. (7/10)

Santi Cazorla: The star man and so close to earning a perfect 10. Stuck away the penalty and then delivered a pinpoint cross for the second. A goal and assist will grab the headlines, but he did so much more - tackling, dribbling, skills, the lot. (9/10)

Alexis Sanchez: No goal for the Chilean today, but he still put in a shift and helped out defensively. Taken off late on. (7/10)

Attack

Olivier Giroud: Made no mistake with his close-range header and also helped Arsenal keep the ball when they needed to with some fine touches. (8/10)

Substitutes

Tomas Rosicky: A calming influence after replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain, helping the Gunners see out the win. (7/10)

Kieran Gibbs: Only given five minutes at the end and must be worried that he's lost his starting place to Monreal. (6/10)

Mathieu Flamini: Replaced Ramsey after watching Coquelin do so many of the things that he usually specialises at. (6/10)
