Preview: Arsenal vs. Leicester City

Sports Mole previews Leicester City's trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to hand a recall to forward Alexis Sanchez for the visit of Leicester City on Tuesday night.

Sanchez, who has netted 18 times in 32 appearances this season, has been absent for the past two games with a hamstring strain, but Wenger has revealed that the Chilean international will return to the squad against the Foxes.

Sanchez's inclusion could possibly come at the expense of Danny Welbeck, but Wenger will be keen not to over-react after witnessing his side fall to a 2-1 defeat at North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Gunners had won their previous five games, with 15 goals being scored during the same period, but the Frenchman will be aware that his team can't afford a slip-up if they are to remain in a group of four teams chasing third and fourth place respectively

Leicester go into the fixture at the Emirates Stadium with manager Nigel Pearson reportedly under pressure to keep his job at the King Power Stadium.

During his team's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, a result that left the East Midlands outfit four points adrift of safety, Pearson was involved in a confrontation with Eagles midfielder James McArthur where he appeared to put his hands around the throat of the 27-year-old.

The incident saw Pearson come under severe scrutiny, and it was reported that he had been removed from his position at the club before Leicester issued a statement saying that he would remain in control of the team against Arsenal.

After a dismal period between September and December, the Foxes have recorded four wins and a draw in their last eight games in all competitions, but three successive defeats in the Premier League has left them in trouble at the bottom of the table.
