A Premier League all-time great overtook another Premier League all-time great in the competition's assists charts on November 9, 2024, when Liverpool went five points clear at the top of the table with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.
The Reds' first strike on the evening came via the boot of Darwin Nunez in somewhat strange circumstances, as Arne Slot's men launched a rapid counter-attack, and Mohamed Salah was about to burst through on goal before Leon Bailey brought him down.
Referee David Coote incredibly dismissed any calls for a foul - which would have surely seen Bailey take the walk of shame - but Salah got the final touch on the ball before Nunez took over to devastating effect.
That helper was Salah's 75th assist in the Premier League, leaving the legendary Thierry Henry (74) in his wake, as well as Merseyside counterpart and Everton full-back Ashley Young.
