Young Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson replaces the injured Bacary Sagna for this afternoon's match with Sunderland.

Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson has been handed a starting role for this afternoon's home match with Sunderland.

Jenkinson, who comes in for the injured Bacary Sagna, is joined in the starting lineup by Tomas Rosicky.

Visiting Sunderland are without the services of Nicklas Bendtner, who is unable to play under the terms of his loan agreement for the Gunners.

Arsenal: Szczesny; Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Song, Arteta, Rosicky; Walcott, Gervinho; Van Persie.

Sunderland: Mignolet; O'Shea, Richardson, Turner, Brown; Elmohamady, Larsson, Cattermole, Colback, Vaughan; Sessegnon.
