Aaron Ramsdale and Nuno Tavares are both named in the Arsenal lineup for Monday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Aaron Ramsdale and Nuno Tavares have both been named in the Arsenal lineup for Monday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Ramsdale missed the win over Aston Villa before the international break due to a hip injury but has recovered in time to displace Bernd Leno as the last line of the Gunners' defence.

Tavares also earns a somewhat surprising start on the left-hand side of defence, with Kieran Tierney (knee) absent from the squad entirely alongside Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tomiyasu's absence means that Cedric Soares retains his spot at the back, while Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey form the midfield pairing once again with Martin Odegaard in the number 10 role.

Bukayo Saka has recovered from COVID-19 to start on the right flank while Emile Smith Rowe gets the nod over Gabriel Martinelli on the left, as Alexandre Lacazette captains the side and leads the line. Nicolas Pepe is also absent due to illness.

Eighteen-year-old playmaker Marcelo Flores has made the matchday squad for the first time and is on the bench, and teenage defender Mazeed Ogungbo - a regular for the Under-23s - is also among the substitutes.

Arsenal starting lineup: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tavares; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette

Subs: Leno, Holding, Ogungbo, Swanson, Sambi Lokonga, Elneny, Martinelli, Flores, Nketiah
