Sam Allardyce undecided over Carl Jenkinson stay

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce denies that Arsenal have demanded £12m to sign Carl Jenkinson outright.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he is yet to make a decision over signing Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson on a permanent basis.

Jenkinson has impressed for the Hammers on his season-long loan at Upton Park, starting 17 games in all competitions.

Reports earlier this week had suggested that Allardyce was quoted £12m by the Gunners to sign the 22-year-old, but the West Ham boss has denied such speculation.

"Who told you that? A paper? Who told that paper?" he told London24.

"I read in the paper that they only wanted £4m. It is all about speculation at this stage. Everyone is speculating on price and when the deal can be done.

"When the season is over we will look at the players here, who are out of contract and on loan and then decide. There has been no discussion with Arsenal about if he is available or what price."

Jenkinson, who has been capped by England, is on a contract until 2018 at the Emirates Stadium.
