Arsenal allegedly agree to sign Flamengo defender Pablo Mari for a fee in the region of £14m, despite the Spaniard's season-ending injury earlier this week.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to push through a £14m deal for Flamengo defender Pablo Mari.

When the Gunners signed the Spaniard on loan during the January transfer window, it came with the option of keeping the centre-back on a permanent basis.

That was thrown into doubt on Wednesday night as Mari suffered a serious ankle injury against Manchester City, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

However, according to the Daily Mail, club officials are prepared to secure Mari's services on a full-time basis.

The 26-year-old, who was making just his third appearance for Arsenal when he sustained his injury, is expected to be out of action until November.
