Arsenal closer to deal for Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero?

Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero reveals that he is currently spending time in London at a time when reports have linked the player with a move to Arsenal.

Real Valladolid defender Fernando Calero has contributed to speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for the La Liga outfit this season, and it has been suggested that the Gunners may look to bring in the centre-back during the January window.

Arsenal require reinforcements at the back due to the long-term injury to Rob Holding, and it appears that Calero has turned down the chance to keep his presence in England's capital low-key.

The Spaniard has revealed on social media that he is in London over the Christmas period, with La Liga not due to restart until the start of 2019.

Calero still has just over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, while Arsenal are said to be interested in a £10m deal.
