Arsenal are allegedly interested in a swap deal involving midfielder Lucas Torreira and Roma's Amadou Diawara.

Arsenal are reportedly open to a swap deal involving Lucas Torreira and Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara.

In order to make changes to his first-team squad this summer, manager Mikel Arteta is having to be creative in the transfer market.

Like with most of the major clubs around Europe, there is a willingness to conduct exchange deals to save on big financial outlays.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there is potential for Torreira and Diawara to switch their roles at the Emirates Stadium and Stadio Olimpico respectively.

After a mixed two years in North London, Torreira is in favour of a return to Serie A, where he has previously represented Sampdoria.

Although Diawara made 30 appearances in his first season at Roma, the Guinean may be allowed to move elsewhere for the right price.
