Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Russian defender Igor Diveev after being impressed by his performances for his country at the COTIF youth tournament.

The 18-year-old centre-back scored during a match against Argentina Under-20s and also helped Russia to a victory over Venezuela Under-20s, keeping a clean sheet in the process.

The Gunners had scouts watching the tournament, and The Mirror reports that they have recommended an approach for Diveev.

The teenager currently plays his club football for Russian Premier League side FC Ufa, who have been drawn against Rangers in the playoff rounds of this season's Europa League.

Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is still thought to be looking for defensive reinforcements for his side, despite bringing in Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner during the summer transfer window.
