Athletico Paranaense president Mario Celso Petraglia has claimed that Arsenal hold an interest in signing Bruno Guimaraes.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the top defensive midfielders in Brazil, earning recognition with his nation's Under-23 side.
A move to Europe is expected during 2020, with Petraglia revealing that Benfica have made an approach for the player during the January window.
However, despite not expecting a bid this month, the Paranaense chief has also suggested that Arsenal are keen on Guimaraes.
Speaking to O Jogo, Petraglia said: "Yes it's true. Yesterday came the official offer from Benfica to sign Bruno Guimaraes. Let's study Benfica's offer. On Monday we will meet the club board to assess this situation.
"Arsenal are interested, but will only make an offer towards the end of the season."
Guimaraes still has three years remaining on his contract.
