Arsenal make formal offer to Real Madrid for Angel di Maria?

Arsenal reportedly lodge a formal bid of £25.6m to Real Madrid for winger Angel di Maria.

Arsenal have reportedly made a formal bid to Real Madrid for winger Angel di Maria with four days left to go until the close of the transfer window.

The Gunners are yet to bring a high-profile signing to the Emirates this summer, despite reports at the beginning of the window that manager Arsene Wenger has around £70m to spend.

It is understood that the North London outfit have submitted an offer of around £25.6m for Di Maria, but Madrid are yet to respond as their focus is on wrapping up the capture of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Goal.com.

Di Maria, who signed a contract extension until 2018 last season, recently stated that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu.
