Arsenal have reportedly touched base with Palmeiras over a possible deal for midfielder Danilo.
The Gunners are set to lose Mohamed Elneny on a free transfer this summer, while Roma are still thought to hold an interest in fellow midfielder Granit Xhaka.
As well as a new striker, Arsenal are also expected to pursue options in the engine room for the 2022-23 season and continue to be linked with the likes of Ruben Neves and Douglas Luiz.
Now, BolaVIP claims that the Gunners have touched base with Palmeiras to discuss a possible move for 20-year-old Danilo, but the Brasileiro side will play hardball in negotiations.
The report adds that Palmeiras are ready to rebuff any offers for Danilo in the summer, and they can afford to do so having tied him down to a new deal until 2026 a couple of weeks ago.
The Brazilian has five goals and five assists to his name from 89 games in a Palmeiras shirt and has won two Copa Libertadores crowns with the White-Green since 2019.
