Arsenal reportedly set a creative midfielder as their top transfer priority after their capture of Brighton & Hove Albion star Ben White is complete.

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on a creative midfielder as their new top transfer priority, following the arrivals of several reinforcements across the pitch this summer.

The Gunners have already addressed several issues in this transfer window, bringing in young left-back Nuno Tavares and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga as well as the reportedly imminent arrival of versatile Brighton & Hove Albion man Ben White.

According to footbal.london, Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu have now reportedly outlined a new creative midfielder as their top priority upon the completion of the White deal.

The Gunners have already been heavily linked with a move for Lyon star Houssem Aouar, who reportedly fits the mould of the player Edu wants at the Emirates Stadium, although the French club are said to be unwilling to sell their 23-year-old prospect for the low price Arsenal have reportedly offered.

Even if the Aouar deal falls through, the London club are still expected to bring a creative midfielder through the door this summer, following the return of Martin Odegaard to Real Madrid after a loan spell last season, with Los Blancos said to have turned down a permanent deal.

Following the breakthrough of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe into the Arsenal first team over the last two seasons, Arteta is looking for another attacker to complement the two youngsters at the Emirates Stadium.
