Arsenal reportedly open talks over a deal for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who is said to be rated at £38m by the French club.

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Lyon over a move for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The 24-year-old has remained a regular for Les Gones since the arrival of Peter Bosz, featuring 22 times in all competitions and banking five assists in that spell.

Guimaraes is under contract at the Groupama Stadium until the summer of 2024, but Lyon's struggles to perform domestically this term sees him linked with a move elsewhere.

Now, journalist Nicolo Schira claims that Arsenal are ramping up their efforts to sign him, posting on Twitter: "Arsenal are really interested in Olympique Lyonnais' midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Edu loves him and has opened talks to try to sign him."

Lyon are supposedly after a bid of £38m to part ways with Guimaraes, who has scored three goals and set up seven more in 68 appearances for Les Gones since arriving from Athletico Paranaense in 2020.

The three-cap Brazil international is yet to win a piece of silverware in Europe but became an Olympic gold medallist with the Selecao in 2021, starting all six of his side's games in Tokyo.
