Arsenal will reportedly make a bid for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski if a move for Karim Benzema falls through.
Real Madrid frontman Benzema has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his striking options for the forthcoming season.
It has been suggested that the France international would be interested in a move to North London, although the player's agent has stated that a transfer away from Real is unlikely.
That could pave the way for Arsenal to switch focus on Lewandowski, who signed for Bayern from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer last year.
According to El Confidencial, the Gunners have identified the Polish international as a backup option should they fail with their bid for Benzema.
Manchester United have also been linked with Lewandowski, having already signed Bastian Schweinsteiger from the Bavarian outfit.
Lewandowski has scored 24 goals in 47 appearances for Bayern.
