Arsenal have reportedly identified Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as a potential addition during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has emerged as a key man since the arrival of Brenda Rodgers, helping the Foxes into second position in the Premier League table.
With the Nigeria international having a contract until 2024, Leicester are under no pressure to part ways with the defensive-minded player next month.
However, Leicestershire Live claims that Arsenal plan to make an ambitious effort to sign Ndidi as part of their rebuilding job at the Emirates Stadium.
The report says that the Gunners are willing to part with £40m and Granit Xhaka in order to secure his signature.
Nevertheless, it would come as a surprise if Leicester entertained such a bid, especially with the East Midlands outfit in no need to raise transfer funds of their own due to the sale of Harry Maguire in the summer.
