Arsenal to spend £25m on Quincy Promes?

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to strike a £25m deal for Ajax winger Quincy Promes during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a £25m move for Ajax winger Quincy Promes.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Eredivisie giants before the season was curtailed, registering 12 goals and four assists in the Dutch top flight.

Arsenal are supposedly looking to bolster their attack and are believed to be closing in on a deal for Willian, and according to The Sun, Mikel Arteta has identified Promes as an ideal signing on the opposite side of attack.

Club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang occupied the left flank for much of the 2019-20 campaign, but question marks are still hanging over the head of the prolific 31-year-old with regards to his future.

Teenage starlet Gabriel Martinelli also impressed on the left wing in the most recent season, but the Brazilian is not expected to feature until 2021 owing to a serious knee injury.

Promes still has just under four years left to run on his current deal at Ajax.
