Leicester City inform Arsenal that they will need to cough up over £60m to sign James Maddison this summer, according to a report.

Arsenal will reportedly have to fork out £60m if they want to prise James Maddison away from Leicester City this summer.

The Gunners are on the lookout for alternatives to Martin Odegaard following his confirmation that he will not be returning to North London, and they lost out to Aston Villa in the race for Emiliano Buendia.

Mikel Arteta has therefore been forced to look elsewhere in his search for creative reinforcements, and Arsenal have been tipped to reignite their interest in Maddison as a result.

However, football.london claims that Leicester would demand a hefty fee of £60m to part ways with the Englishman, whose contract still has three years left to run.

Maddison's entourage are supposedly expecting an approach from Arsenal in the coming days, though, and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old.

The former Norwich City playmaker amassed 15 goal contributions (eight goals, seven assists) from 31 Premier League games last term and also claimed an FA Cup winners' medal.
