Mesut Ozil will stay with Arsenal this summer as the club cannot offload the attacker, according to a report.

Mesut Ozil will reportedly stay with Arsenal this summer as the Gunners cannot offload their leading earner.

Ozil only signed a new £350,000-a-week contract with Arsenal last year and his deal at the Emirates Stadium will run until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

An inconsistent 2018-19 campaign saw the 30-year-old manage just six goals and three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions for Unai Emery's side.

Emery reportedly wants to sell the German in this summer's transfer window. However, according to the Daily Mail, the club are yet to receive any approaches due to his high wage.

Ozil moved to the Emirates in 2013 off the back of spells with Werder Bremen and Real Madrid.

The playmaker has largely struggled to produce his best form for the capital outfit, though, managing to hit double figures in just one season since arriving in England.
