Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has 'reassured' the club's supporters that he will make at least one new signing before the end of the transfer window.
Since signing Granit Xhaka at the start of the summer, the Gunners have not made any more significant acquisitions but fellow newcomer Rob Holding was drafted in for a first-team debut on Sunday with Arsenal struggling for numbers in defence.
The 4-3 defeat to Liverpool has resulted in calls from fans for Wenger to spend some of the funds that he reportedly has at his disposal, and it appears that they will get their wish over the next two weeks.
The Frenchman told reporters: "I can reassure people we're ready to spend the money we have.
"It's important to spend money but more important to spend it the right way. There are two markets, one for English clubs, one for the rest of Europe."
Arsenal have been linked with moves for both Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
