Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo by holding discussions with his agent.
The Gunners are in the market for a fresh face in the middle of the pitch with their attention seemingly turning to the Brazil international.
Despite being used regularly since the start of December, Arthur is one of a number of players who have been made available by the Italian giants.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the relevant parties held a meeting on Wednesday in a bid to negotiate terms that suit both clubs.
However, as it stands, that is not the case, with Juventus allegedly insisting that they want an 18-month agreement with an option to buy in 2023.
In sharp contrast, Arsenal are angling for a straight loan deal, despite the 25-year-old expressing a desire to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
