Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing up a move for versatile Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu during the next summer transfer window.
Since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium back in the summer of 2021, Tomiyasu has been utilised in various positions within the Gunners' defence.
The ex-Bologna defender has been deployed at left-back, right-back and in central defence for Mikel Arteta's side, who have conceded the joint-fewest goals in the league so far this season.
As reported by Sky Sports transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are contemplating making a bid for the Japanese international due to his versatility.
The report also indicates that a January transfer is unlikely, given that the 25-year-old defender is expected to be away on international duty with Japan at the Asian Cup.
However, Thomas Tuchel's team will continue monitoring Tomiyasu in anticipation of potential developments in the summer.
Tomiyasu signed from Bologna for a transfer fee of around £20m two years ago and has made 69 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.
The defender opened his account for the Gunners last month, scoring his first goal for the club in their 5-0 victory against Sheffield United.
