Bjorn Engels, who has been a regular on loan with Ligue 1 side Reims this season, says that he 'dreams' of playing for Arsenal.

Olympiacos defender Bjorn Engels has admitted that playing in the Premier League for Arsenal "would be a dream".

The Belgian centre-back has also been linked with Everton and English top-flight rivals Fulham in the past.

Engels is spending the season on loan in Ligue 1 with Reims, starting 17 of their 21 league matches this term.

With plenty of senior experience under his belt from five years at Club Brugge and a season with Olympiacos, the 24-year-old is hopeful of securing a move to the Premier League in the future.

"Not right now, but if my level continues to rise, it will come," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"I've been there a couple of times in the past, maybe next time is the right one. Arsenal? It would be a dream. But playing in England, it would be already top.

"[My wife] is from Liverpool and all her family is a fan of the Reds. When Everton was interested in me, she said to me laughing: Everton is OK, but never Man United!"

Engels has represented Belgium at age-grade level but has yet to be capped by the senior side.
