With Chelsea still having plenty of work to do in order to challenge for another Premier League crown, speculation persists regarding their movements in the transfer market.
While Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already signed on the dotted line, more players are expected to follow before the beginning of the new top-flight campaign in September.
However, boss Frank Lampard will inevitably need to strike a balance between adding fresh faces to his squad and ensuring that funds are being generated for players deemed surplus to requirements.
At a time when the Blues are preparing to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Saturday night, developments are seemingly continuing behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
Tuesday morning's Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:
Arsenal 'offer Willian three-year contract'

Despite Willian pushing to extend his successful stay in West London, it appears increasingly likely that the Brazilian will depart Chelsea on a free transfer.
While the playmaker has expressed a desire to pen a three-year contract, club officials have stood firm over a deal which would only run until 2022.
That has inevitably resulted in strong interest from elsewhere, including from Arsenal who are aware that the 31-year-old would prefer to remain in England's capital.
According to France Football, this has led to the Gunners offering Willian his desired length of deal, combined with wages similar to what he is earning at their rivals.
Chelsea 'must sell defenders to sign Declan Rice, Jose Gimenez'

Chelsea conceded a total of 54 goals from 38 Premier League games this season, a record which cannot continue if they are to make any headway up the standings.
That has resulted in the likes of Declan Rice and Jose Gimenez, of West Ham United and Atletico Madrid respectively, being linked with a potential switch to Stamford Bridge.
However, according to The Telegraph, any defensive transfers will only come to fruition if Lampard can sell at least one of his current crop of centre-backs.
While Antonio Rudiger's place is potentially safe due to his friendship with new arrival Werner, the remaining options in that position are effectively available for the right price.
Report: Chelsea make opening £54m bid for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz
© Reuters
For a number of weeks, it has been claimed that Bayer Leverkusen have set Kai Havertz's asking price in the region of £90m.
Despite needing to include add-ons to reach that valuation, Chelsea have remained as the favourites to secure a deal for the Germany international.
However, according to transfer pundit Ian McGarry, the opening bid from the Blues was £54m, with a further £9m offered in instalments.
If reports are to believed, Leverkusen will swiftly reject that bid with two months still remaining in the summer transfer window.
