Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up a move for Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, despite the German club holding out for a £30m transfer fee.
The 21-year-old is said to have been identified by head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who is keen for the Gunners to move before one of their domestic rivals pounces.
Soyuncu was linked with Leicester City a year ago and has since been touted as a possible target for Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Arsenal have already sent scouts to watch the Turkey international, according to the Daily Mail, most recently in his country's 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland last week.
Due to the demand for Soyuncu, it is claimed that Freiburg have no intention of selling for anything less than £30m, two years after landing him for £2.4m from Turkish second-tier outfit Altinordu.
