Catania defender Gino Peruzzi mute over Arsenal transfer

Catania defender Gino Peruzzi keeps quiet regarding the transfer rumours linking him with Arsenal.

Catania's Gino Peruzzi has remained silent over transfer rumours linking the defender with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing the 22-year-old, and the full-back is well aware of the speculation.

Peruzzi told reporters: "I heard about the interest of Arsenal, but the club has not told me anything.

"I am calm and I think I will stay here. I am just thinking of Catania and I really want to bring the team back into Serie A."

Arsene Wenger has signed Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United to fill the vacant right-back position but is weighing up his options, with a bid for Southampton's Callum Chambers reportedly in place.
