Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney will reportedly decide on his future at the end of the season amid interest from Newcastle United.

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney will reportedly make a decision on his future at the end of the season.

The Scotland international has been a fan favourite since joining from Celtic in 2019, but the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko has pushed him down the pecking order.

Tierney has started just four Premier League games in the 2022-23 campaign, although he has a goal and assist from six Europa League starts in the group stage.

The 25-year-old's lack of game time has led to suggestions that he could seek an exit from Arsenal this summer, although he is under contract at the club for another three-and-a-half years, having signed an extension in 2021.

Newcastle United are believed to be considering a summer move for Tierney, who has also been linked with Manchester City and Juventus over the past few months.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had said that Tierney will not give any thought to his future until the end of the current campaign, when Nuno Tavares will return from his loan spell at Marseille.

"Tierney will decide his future at the end of the season, also Nuno Tavares on loan is another factor to consider. Arsenal want him to be 100% focused on the second part of the season, they're not in talks with any club now," Romano wrote for Caughtoffside, as quoted by football.london.

After spending four Premier League games on the bench as an unused substitute, Tierney came on for the final minute of Saturday's 4-2 win over Aston Villa - his 12th appearance off the bench in the top flight this season.

The Scottish defender has amassed a total of five goals and 13 assists in 112 games for the Gunners since joining under Unai Emery, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield in the process.

Injuries have also plagued Tierney during his time in North London, though, and he missed the end of the 2021-22 campaign after undergoing surgery on a knee injury back in March.

Tierney has missed 48 games for Arsenal through various fitness problems, but the Gunners are still said to be after at least £30m to sanction his sale this summer.

Arsenal could be in the market for full-back additions in the summer, having allowed Cedric Soares to join Fulham on loan, while Tavares may be allowed to leave upon the end of his spell at Marseille.

The Gunners were believed to have been weighing up a bid for Real Valladolid's Ivan Fresneda during the January window, and they are expected to reignite their pursuit of the 18-year-old's services in the summer.

Mikel Arteta's side can go five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table when they face Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
