Liverpool enter race for Barcelona striker David Villa?

Liverpool reportedly join the chase for David Villa's signature, alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool are reportedly the latest club to show an interest in signing Barcelona striker David Villa this summer.

The Spain international has been tipped to leave the Spanish champions, with Tottenham Hotspur thought to be currently leading the pack for the 31-year-old's signature.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed on Twitter that the Reds, Spurs, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are in the market for the forward, with suggestions that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers could be eyeing Villa as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, if he decides to leave.

Balague also revealed that Barca are willing to accept around £10m for Villa, who is keen to move to the Premier League this summer.
