Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that defender Stefan de Vrij will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old's current contract with the Italian outfit expires this summer, and talks over an extension have proved fruitless.
De Vrij has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent transfer windows as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defensive options, but the Reds are expected to face competition for his signature from the likes of Barcelona, Inter Milan and Arsenal.
"It's a decision made after many months. There's a limit to everything. We will say goodbye at the end of the season," Tare is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
De Vrij has played 29 games across all competitions for Lazio so far this season, scoring four Serie A goals to help the club into fourth in the table.
