Tottenham Hotspur are at the front of the queue to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, according to a report.
The Colombia international is due to arrive back at the Bernabeu from a two-year spell with Bayern Munich at the end of the season, unless the German side take up the option to sign him permanently in the next few months.
Real reportedly have no long-term plans for James, leaving the European champions on the lookout for bidders ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with the 27-year-old, but The Independent claims that North London rivals Tottenham will have first dibs.
Los Blancos are desperate to bring in Christian Eriksen and believe that including James in a deal could act as a sweetener.
The former Monaco ace is said to favour a return to Madrid, where he intends to fight for a first-team place under Santiago Solari.
