Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly an admirer of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who will likely move to a new club in the summer.
Although the Spaniard is currently attempting to win the Serie A title with Napoli, speculation persists that he will take on a new challenge elsewhere later in 2022.
If reports are to be believed, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all contemplating offers for the 25-year-old.
However, according to journalist Antonio Giordano, Guardiola may take the opportunity to try to add his compatriot to his midfield options at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Canale 8's Ne Parliamo il Martedì, Giordano said: "These are Fabian's last two months at Napoli. In two months, an auction will be triggered around the Spaniard, it is inevitable. In April, he will be 26 years old. In a year, his [contract] will expire and there seems to be no possibility of renewal.
"He wants to leave, the club has a duty to sell and whoever wants to buy, they have the right and the duty to believe in it and to come and make a serious offer.
"He will become the prized piece of the market if he scores another goal like that against Roma, which is part of the masterpieces, and the performances of the first four months of this season. Guardiola, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Arsenal like him.".
Ruiz has contributed six goals and three assists from 22 league appearances this campaign.
