Newcastle United have reportedly identified Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as a potential signing.
Having made an impression for his club, Cakir has recently been rewarded with his first senior cap for Turkey, a development which has not gone unnoticed by teams in the Premier League.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a future approach for the 23-year-old, who appears destined to sign for a bigger side.
According to 61 Saat, Newcastle are also keen on Cakir, with the North-East outfit having sent scouts to watch the stopper in action.
Cakir has a contract at Trabzonspor until 2024, while it is alleged that club officials could value him in the region of £17m.
The Magpies are well stocked for goalkeepers, however, as Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot currently compete for the number-one spot, while Freddie Woodman is expected to be back in contention next season after impressing on loan for Swansea City.
