Jonas Olsson: 'Transfer speculation in the past'

West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson insists that he is committed to the club and wants to put summer speculation over a move to Arsenal behind him.

Jonas Olsson has insisted that he is focused on life at West Bromwich Albion after ignoring transfer rumours in the summer to commit himself to the Midlands outfit.

The Swedish centre-back was linked with several other Premier League teams, including Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, whom the Baggies welcome to The Hawthorns on Sunday.

While he has admitted that a move to London may appeal to him in the future, the 30-year-old defender has stressed that he signed an extended contract with West Brom only because he is happy at the club.

"I don't want to comment further on rumours," Olsson told The Mirror. "In the window there is always a link to this and that. Sometimes it is true, sometimes you don't hear any more, sometimes it is close, sometimes it is not.

"Either way it is gone - I signed a contract last autumn and I would not have agreed a four-year deal if I was not happy. I focus on where I am and my obligation to do my very best.

"I like London, one day I would like to live there and play football but I am very happy here and if I were to leave this club, it would be for something really good."

Olsson has made 179 appearances for the Baggies since arriving from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in 2008.
