Report: Barcelona drop Luciano Vietto interest

A report claims that Barcelona are no longer in the race to sign Villarreal forward Luciano Vietto.

Barcelona are reportedly no longer in the race to sign Villarreal forward Luciano Vietto.

The Catalan outfit have been strongly linked with a move for the youthful Argentine since the start of the year.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have decided against making a bid at the end of the season and will instead pursue other targets.

Atletico Madrid have been credited with a long-standing interest in Vietto, while it has also been claimed that both Arsenal and Liverpool have triggered the forward's buy-out clause.

The 21-year-old joined Villarreal from Racing last summer and struck 18 times in 42 games during his first season in European football.
