Report: Manchester City hope to announce Bacary Sagna arrival today

Manchester City are reportedly hopeful of announcing the signing of Bacary Sagna from Arsenal today.

Manchester City are reportedly hopeful of announcing the signing of Bacary Sagna from Arsenal at some point today.

The Frenchman penned a farewell message to Arsenal supporters yesterday after deciding to leave the Emirates after a seven-year spell.

City emerged as the favourites to sign the 31-year-old, who is also said to have attracted interest from numerous clubs around Europe, including Paris Saint-German.

According to The Express, while Sagna's contract at Arsenal does not officially expire until the end of the month, City are hopeful of clinching the full-back's signature on a free transfer today.

Sagna's last game for Arsenal was in the FA Cup final, where they secured a 3-2 victory over Hull City at Wembley to end a nine-year wait for silverware.
