Francisco Rufete: 'Jose Gaya will sign new Valencia deal'

Valencia technical director Francisco Rufete is confident that 19-year-old full-back Jose Gaya will sign a new long-term deal at the Mestalla.

Valencia technical director Francisco Rufete has insisted that Jose Gaya will sign a new long-term deal with the Spanish club.

The 19-year-old, who has broken into Los Che's first team this season, is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in European football.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are both said to be interested in the Spaniard, but Rufete has said that talks over a new deal are well underway.

"Gaya will remain a Valencia player. The renewal process began a month ago. We'll reach an agreement so that he stays with us for many years," Rufete told reporters.

Gaya, who has been tipped to make the breakthrough into Spain's senior national team in 2015, has been with Valencia since 2006.
