Arsene Wenger is reportedly eyeing a move for Southampton's Victor Wanyama following the injury sustained by Mikel Arteta on Tuesday evening.
The Arsenal skipper picked up an ankle injury during the Champions League tie and has been ruled out for at least two weeks.
Wanyama has caught the eye of Wenger following Southampton's refusal to sell French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to Goal.com.
Schneirderlin was linked with a move away from St Mary's after Mauricio Pochettino left the Saints to join Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season but Ronald Koeman ended any speculation on Thursday.
Arsenal take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.
