Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: 'No contact from clubs for Lukas Podolski'

Wenger: 'No approaches for Podolski'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he has not received any contact from clubs around Europe regarding the sale of Lukas Podolski.

Recent reports have claimed that the German forward could move to Italy after dropping down the pecking order at the Emirates.

Podolski himself has urged Wenger to give him a "fair chance", and despite the player suggesting that he may look for a new club, Wenger has told reporters that he expects him to still be at the club after January.

"I have had no enquiries from anybody," Wenger said in today's press conference. "He faces big competition. He has an outstanding attitude and he works very hard."

The 29-year-old has been an Arsenal player since 2012.
