Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that the club are not closing in on any new signings.
Reports have suggested that the North London outfit may swoop for a striker to share responsibilities with Olivier Giroud for the second half of the season.
Dimitar Berbatov, Julian Draxler and Alvaro Morata are among the names that have been linked with the Premier League club.
However, Wenger has stated that fans should not expect any imminent arrivals, and the Frenchman believes that this month will be a quiet market overall.
"At the moment we are not close to signing anybody," Arsenal's official Twitter page quotes Wenger as saying. "The January transfer market will not be busy, it is a low key market this year."
The Gunners are currently leading at the top of the league table by one point.
