Preview: Monaco vs. Caen

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Ligue 1 match between Monaco and Caen at Stade Louis II.

Monaco face a side lingering near the bottom of the Ligue 1 table this Saturday when Caen travel to Stade Louis II.

Leonardo Jardim's side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Benfica in their last Champions League outing, but in the league, Monaco are unbeaten in their last five fixtures.

Monaco had a poor start to the campaign by losing their first two games, but have gone on to win five, draw four and lose a further two to leave themselves seventh in the standings.

Nine points separate them from leaders Marseille, while Caen face a different prospect at the other end of the table as goal difference is the only thing keeping them out of the bottom three.

Patrice Garande's side have struggled to find their feet this season having grabbed just two wins out of 13 and losing seven along the way, two of which were back-to-back defeats to Metz and Nantes.

Caen started in positive form on away turf by winning their first two, and while the team have failed to snatch maximum points on their travels since, the French outfit have earned three points from their last five away fixtures.

Lacina Traore and Valere Germain are likely to provide attacking threat for Monaco, while the visitors are expected to install Mathieu Duhamel and Florian Raspentino up front.
