Vincent Enyeama frustrates Monaco in goalless draw

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama makes a string of saves to deny Monaco in a 0-0 draw in Ligue 1 at Stade Louis II.

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has frustrated a dominant Monaco as the sides played out a 0-0 draw in their Ligue 1 clash at Stade Louis II.

Monaco were on top from the first whistle, Bernardo Silva missing with a header inside the first minute before Nabil Dirar was denied well by Enyeama after he was put clean through.

The chances kept coming for the home side as Ivan Cavaleiro fired wide, before Jeremy Toulalan came closest to opening the scoring a minute before half time when his free kick was saved by Enyeama.

Lille started the second period with more intent and Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic had to deny both Benjamin Pavard and debutant Baptiste Guillaume within five minutes of the restart.

Monaco introduced Stephan El Shaarawy after losing both Kurzawa and Moutinho to injury but they still could not find the breakthrough as another Enyeama stop denied Ricardo Carvalho.

Lille nearly stole three points in the closing stages when Junior Tallo's shot was blocked and Renato Civelli headed wide from the resulting corner, but both sides ultimately had to settle for just a single point.

Next up for Monaco is a trip to Valencia in the UEFA Champions League playoff round on Wednesday night, while Lille host Bordeaux next Sunday.
