Dimitar Berbatov extends Monaco stay

Striker Dimitar Berbatov extends his stay at Monaco by another 12 months.

AS Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov has extended his stay at the club until the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

Berbatov left Fulham to join the Ligue 1 outfit during the January transfer window, and after scoring nine goals in 14 matches, the Bulgarian attacker has signed a new contract with Claudio Ranieri's side.

A statement from club vice president Vadim Vasilyev said: "With AS Monaco, Dimitar showed all of his talent.

"He is a great player and we are very proud to have him for the next season."

Monaco have qualified for next season's Champions League after finishing the season in second place in the Ligue 1 standings.
