Tim Sherwood watched Aston Villa create very little in a goalless first half against Leicester City in the FA Cup fifth round this afternoon.
New Villa boss Sherwood is not in charge for today's game and only watched from the stand as his side hung on against the Premier League's bottom side.
The first 10 minutes went by with little goalmouth action before Leicester struck the woodwork when Marcin Wasilewski's flicked header from Matty James's corner flew across goal and hit the outside of the post.
Leicester continued to look more threatening and felt that they should have had a penalty when Ron Vlaar nudged Andrej Kramaric in the back just as the striker was about to head at goal.
Moments later, Shay Given prevented the Foxes going in front with a fingertip stop that diverted James's rising shot just wide of the goal.
Villa found the net in the 45th minute, but Christian Benteke was correctly flagged offside as Villa failed to score in the first half for the 11th game in a row.
