Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor missing for another two weeks

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor is given two weeks off by his Premier League club to 'undergo a personal fitness programme'.

Aston Villa attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor has been given two weeks off by his Premier League club to 'undergo a personal fitness programme'.

The 29-year-old missed his team's 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend with a virus and had previously been absent for his conduct while on a recent trip to Dubai.

It had been thought that the forward would return to action against Manchester United this weekend, but Villa's official Twitter feed has revealed that Agbonlahor will not be available for the next couple of weeks.

A disastrous campaign has left Villa rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table on 16 points and they could be officially relegated away to Man United on Saturday afternoon.
