Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker has been ruled out of action for at least two months with a knee injury.
The 23-year-old, who has made seven appearances for the Villans in the Premier League this season, was stretchered off in the goalless draw against West Ham United before the international break.
It is the latest blow for manager Paul Lambert, who is also without fellow centre-backs Philippe Senderos and Ron Vlaar for the visit of Southampton on Monday night.
Jores Okore, Ciaran Clark and Chris Herd can all fill in at the back for a Villa side currently 16th in the league table.
