Aston Villa winger Adama Traore ruled out for 10 weeks with broken metatarsal

Aston Villa winger Adama Traore is ruled out for eight to 10 weeks after breaking a bone in his foot at the weekend.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has confirmed that Adama Traore is expected to be out of action for around 10 weeks with a broken metatarsal.

The 19-year-old broke the bone in his foot during Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The winger, who cost Villa £7m when they bought him from Barcelona in the summer, made the assist for Carles Gil's goal before he left the pitch.

In Thursday's press conference, Garde told reporters that the teenage Spaniard is likely to be on the sidelines from eight to 10 weeks due to the injury.

Villa are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of safety.
