Darren Bent recovers from shoulder injury

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has been declared fit ahead of the team’s Premier League opener against Fulham this weekend.

Bent was ruled out of England’s postponed friendly with the Netherlands this week with a shoulder problem.

Villa boss Alex McLeish will enjoy a healthy team for his first competitive game in charge.

“At this moment there are no injuries to shout about,” McLeish said. “We have almost everyone available. There is no-one on the treatment table.”

The 27-year-old has scored nine goals in 16 appearances since joining Villa from Sunderland in January.
